Style Dossiers: Japanese Fashion Protégé Yuima Nakazato

A graduate of the Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Yuima Nakazato has been causing quite a stir on the fashion scene.
Born to artistic parents– his mother is a jewelry designer and his father a sculptor– creativity has been instilled in him from birth
His futuristic designs have walked the catwalks of Italy, France and Belgium, to name only a few, and are continuing to wow fashion lovers worldwide.
Nazakato’s Spring Collection entitled “New Gender” consists of long tube dresses, high-heeled boots and metallic corsets for men. This may be unusual to some but Nazakato describes his uncommon collection as wanting “to blend the male and female bodies to create a new gender “.
His non-conforming pieces have been popular with fashion rebel and singer Lady Gaga who’s been seen wearing some of Yuima’s designs.
Yuima Nakazato is currently based out of Tokyo, Japan and shows his own work in Paris.
