Wrongfully Accused by Gonsalves Mpili
Art, Literature, PoetryThe court hired me/
My role of which I know/
My instincts pushed me into a river/
A river flowing water mixed with salt but tasted like pepper/
Is it guilt that I acted like a spokesperson of a conglomerate/
I spilled all sorts of data which were forecasted/
A resignation letter replying my medulla forcing me to type it/
The opposition rejected my envelope written I’m Out/
They took seeds and implanted them to the court/
The court fell for it, I didn’t/
In support of my own, I took a stand/
It’s not my fault/
Objection your honor, they chipped in/
Overruled/
I borrowed my smile to them/
They didn’t accept it/
I pleaded not guilty/
To them I was publicized a rotten egg, as if my odour was bad.
